 The School Volunteers Office is dedicated to ensuring that both our volunteers and schools receive optimal benefit from the school/volunteer experience. For years, the DCSS Volunteers Program has provided countless hours of services to our schools and centers through our dedicated volunteers. Through those services, we are able to expand the opportunities that are available to our students. The assistance of volunteers can also influence the growth and education of our children. Our volunteers may be certain that they are serving in a cause that really matters and in a way that really counts.

Our school volunteers serve in the following ways:

  • General Classroom Assistant
  • Office Assistant
  • Media Center Assistant
  • Physical Education Assistants
  • After-School Programs Assistants
  • Mentor

    Steps to Completing an Application

    1. Complete the school volunteer application indicating the school with which you would like to volunteer (the school volunteers office can assign a school to you if you have no preference).
       
    2. The completed form may be mailed to:

    3. For faster processing, you may either fax the form to 438-3549 or scan and email to tameeka.daniels@docoschools.org
       
    4. Present a picture ID and completed background check form at:

    PLEASE NOTE, ALL PROSPECTIVE VOLUNTEERS MUST COMPLETE A BACKGROUND CHECK FORM AND PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK BEFORE YOU CAN BEGIN VOLUNTEERING. THE BACKGROUND CHECK IS FREE OF CHARGE.
